SEC. 01

Accessibility standards we follow

Debt Rescue Lab works toward conforming with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines rest on four core principles:

Perceivable: Content is presented so all users can detect it — text alternatives, captions, and sufficient color contrast among them
Operable: Every interface component and navigation path works with a keyboard, voice, or alternative input device
Understandable: Content and interface behavior are predictable, with clear instructions and error messages
Robust: Content stays compatible with a wide range of current and future assistive technologies

We run periodic accessibility audits and keep checking the site against these standards as it evolves.

Accessibility features on our platform

We've built in a number of features to support different needs and preferences:

Semantic HTML structure

Proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and meaningful link text throughout

Keyboard navigation

Full site navigation without needing a mouse, including visible focus indicators

Alt text on images

Descriptive alternative text on informational images for screen reader users

Color contrast

Text and interface elements hold WCAG AA contrast ratios for readability

Scalable text

All text can be resized up to 200% without losing content or function

Skip navigation

Skip-to-content links let keyboard users bypass repeated navigation blocks

SEC. 03

Known limitations & ongoing work

We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA across the whole site, but some areas may not fully conform yet. What we're actively working on:

Certain third-party embedded components — like the lender-connection form — may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control
Some older PDF documents may lack full screen-reader optimization — we're working through these
Video content published before 2025 may not include captions — new content is captioned by default

Help us find what we've missed: if you hit a barrier that isn't listed here, tell us about it — it goes straight into our roadmap.

SEC. 04

Compatible assistive technologies

Our site has been tested against, and is built to work with, the following:

Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), and TalkBack (Android)
Keyboard-only navigation using standard and extended keyboards
Voice control software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking and Apple Voice Control
Browser zoom up to 400% with reflow enabled on mobile and desktop
High-contrast display modes on Windows and macOS

For the smoothest experience, use a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. If something doesn't work right with a specific technology, let us know so we can look into it.
